CIN supports Portuguese architects and once again sponsors CONCRETA Under 40 Awards

Registrations open from September 1st to October 11th, winners announced in November

  • CIN supports Portuguese architects and once again sponsors CONCRETA Under 40 Awards

The Award, sponsored by CIN for the second consecutive year, aims at promoting and recognizing the work developed by the new Portuguese architect generations, assessing and awarding nationally built works which stand out by their creative and innovative capacity as well as their technical quality.

CIN, Iberian leader Portuguese brand in the coatings market, sponsors for the second consecutive year the CONCRETA Under 40 Awards, continuing the support given to architects over the years. As explained by Marcos Castro, marketing Director at CIN: “to satisfy the needs and challenges of modern architecture is one of the drives in our investment in innovation, resulting in the launch of pioneer and technically advanced products. We are an essential partner for the work of Portuguese architects, so it makes total sense for CIN to support projects from professional youngsters with the same innovative spirit that moves us”, concludes the Director.

In accordance with this year's Award regulations, applications must be presented between September 1st and October 11th, and the winning work will be announced on the first day of Feira Concreta, which takes place from November 21st to 24th.

2017's Award edition

The CONCRETA Under 40 Awards, sponsored by CIN, were created in the Fair's latest edition as a way to stimulate young architects, awarding their audacity, originality, technical skills, typological quality and constructive quality. The first edition, in 2017, featured projects which included housing, trade, services or equipment, including ephemeral works. From the 21 applications validated, 10 were selected and exhibited in CONCRETA.

The winner of the CIN/CONCRETA Under 40 2017 edition was the architectural office ‘DepA Archhitects’ + Margarida Leitão, with the rehabilitation work of Casa do Rosário, Porto. The judging panel was presided by Nuno Brandão e Costa and included Carla Maia, CONCRETA Director, and the architects Cristina Guedes and Diogo Aguiar, as well as Paulo Nunes representing CIN.
